Cork Spray Coatings

Cork Spray Protect Coatings

Rendafacade is an approved applicator of Cork Spray Protect CSP, a natural cork-based spray coating for suitable external and internal surfaces. Achieve a distinctive textured appearance with a flexible, vapour-permeable finish.

Based in Essex, we work with homeowners, housebuilders and contractors across London, Kent, Suffolk and the surrounding counties, assessing each property before recommending a system.

01 · The system

Approved Cork Spray Protect applicators

Rendafacade uses Cork Spray Protect CSP, a spray-applied finish based on natural cork granules. The system creates a subtly textured decorative surface and is designed to provide flexible, weather-resistant protection on suitable prepared backgrounds.

As approved Cork Spray Protect applicators, we follow the relevant product guidance for background assessment, preparation, primers and application. We help homeowners and contractors select a suitable finish for new-build and refurbishment work.

02 · Preparation

Surface preparation & spraying

The appearance and durability of any sprayed coating depend on the condition of the surface beneath it. Before work starts, we check for unsound material, contamination, moisture problems, cracking, joints and other defects that may need attention.

We protect windows, doors, paths and adjoining surfaces before preparing and priming as the manufacturer specifies. The cork coating is then spray-applied using the appropriate equipment and technique to achieve a consistent finish.

03 · Finish & colour

A distinctive textured finish

Cork Spray Protect creates a decorative, finely textured surface suited to projects where a different appearance from conventional smooth or scraped render is wanted. We discuss finish and colour choices alongside the building's existing materials and details.

A sample and the manufacturer's approved colour range should be reviewed before final selection. Final appearance can vary with substrate, application and lighting, so samples remain the best way to confirm the look.

04 · Applications

Homes, extensions & refurbishment

A professionally specified cork coating can be considered for suitable external walls on houses, extensions and refurbishment projects, as well as internal applications where the chosen system permits. Background condition and compatibility must be confirmed before installation.

For projects that also require significant thermal upgrading, we assess whether a dedicated external wall insulation system is more appropriate. A thin decorative cork coating should not be treated as a replacement for properly designed insulation.

Why choose this system

Benefits of Cork Spray Protect

Flexible finish

A coating designed to tolerate normal surface movement when used on a suitable, correctly prepared background.

Vapour permeable

Allows moisture vapour movement through suitable wall constructions, subject to the complete system and background.

Weather resistant

Designed to protect exposed facades when the product is correctly installed and detailed.

Natural cork texture

Distinctive appearance using cork-based materials, with finish and colour options to suit the project.

Actual performance depends on the product specification, background, thickness, detailing and workmanship. Cork spray does not rectify underlying damp, structural movement or defective substrates. Any thermal or acoustic contribution should be assessed for the actual wall construction, rather than assumed.

Planning your project

Is cork spray right for your property?

We begin with the existing finish, wall condition, exposure, access and the result you want to achieve. After reviewing those details, we can advise on appropriate preparation and whether Cork Spray Protect is a suitable option.
