What is Cork Spray Protect?
Cork Spray Protect is a cork-based coating applied by suitable spray equipment over a correctly prepared background. Rendafacade is an approved applicator of the system for appropriate internal and external projects.
The coating provides a distinctive fine texture and is designed to be flexible and weather resistant when applied to a compatible substrate in accordance with manufacturer guidance.
Preparation, texture and finish
Existing cracks, loose material, moisture problems and failed render should be investigated before spray application. Surface preparation, masking, primer and application details all affect the appearance and service life.
Colour and texture should be agreed using the approved system range and samples, rather than assuming the same result on different walls or in different lighting.
Cork spray versus external wall insulation
A thin decorative cork coating is not equivalent to a designed EWI installation with substantial insulation boards. Its thermal contribution should not be represented as a substitute for the insulation performance required by a building design.
If better energy efficiency is the principal goal, Rendafacade can assess the property for a specified external wall insulation system. Cork spray may instead be considered where a suitable decorative, flexible exterior coating is wanted.
